Our Hallmarks

The hallmarks of our accreditation system include:

The process is voluntary and most often led by local educators and practitioners (as opposed to accreditation by visitors from faraway countries – our evaluators are located in various regions throughout our accreditation territory).

The process is not controlled by any government (government inspection is not accreditation).

Programs have real choice of an accrediting body (there is competition between accrediting bodies – any organization or individual seeking accreditation has the opportunity to research other accrediting bodies and make comparisons in order to choose what is best for them).

A professional agency, external to the accredited program, conducts the process -MEMAAC

The evaluation is based on clear, published standards (please see the standards we published on this website).

The process is evaluative rather than regulatory
